The mortise and tenon joint is an ancient joint that was used to build furniture with the strength to last hundreds of years.  Many woodworkers find it harder to execute correctly when compared to the much celebrated dovetail joint.  In this video, I show you how traditional woodworking methods and simple tools can be used to construct a haunched tenon for the accent table seen below.  The door of the chimney cupboard uses a slightly more advanced version of mortise and tenon joint but still incorporates the same methods shown in the video.
