Chimney Cupboard
This Shaker inspired chimney cupboard is 71 1/2" high x 30 1/4 " wide x 18 1/4" deep. The cupboard is constructed from eastern white pine and the best quality furniture grade birch veneer plywood as a secondary wood. The door is constructed from solid eastern white pine using traditional through mortise and tenon joints that are pinned and drawbored to maximize strength. The joinery is so strong that glue is not used or needed to hold the door together. You will not find this type of joinery in furniture stores. The moldings in the door are coped so that over many years as the door shrinks, a gap will not appear where the moldings meet. The finish is acrylicl over milk paint.
