I attended Mr. Huron's Spring Harvest School of Fine Woodworking and found it to be excellent. Mr. Huron teaches the fine art of working with wood using hand tools. These techniques are a must for anyone who desires to improve their skills as a woodworker. Mr. Huron is a good teacher who cares about his students and always has time to work with them even long after the end of class. I would recommend the Spring Harvest School of Fine Woodworking to anyone, whatever their skill level. I plan to take more instruction from Mr. Huron in the future.

The basic woodworking class was interesting and full of information that will better my woodworking skills. I learned the importance of caring for my tools (something that hadn't received much attention). The outstanding instruction assured me that I was on the way to doing better work. Everything was explained in such a way that it was impossible to misunderstand. The hand out with photographed step-by-step instructions is an excellent reference. When I went back to my shop, I felt confident in what I was doing.

I really found yesterday's class to be useful and enjoyable. You're an excellent instructor and a highly skilled woodworker.

Thank you again for opening the doors of your woodworking school on Wed., March 23, to students participating in the Interior Design/Senior Topics Studio course. The instructive and informative demonstrations that you conducted proved ideal given the nature of the design projects that the students are undertaking this semester. Seeing someone that can convey knowledge and experience while exercising skilled craftwork is not an ordinary experience these days. In the future I would very much hope that UTSA's School of Architecture could benefit from having you conduct similar such demonstrations for our students.

As a beginning woodworker, I thought that creating joints and surfaces with hand tools would be slow and tedious compared to the use of power tools. After taking George's introductory course, I discovered the simple elegance in using hand tools. George presents the material in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. The techniques that he teaches are very straight forward and will have the novice making near perfect joints in a very short time. I would highly recommend George's class to anyone who is interested in becoming a better craftsman.

The class was great, I really enjoyed it and I learned much. It gave me a true appreciation for the hand plane and some of the challenges there are in using it. I think this project was a perfect follow-up to the first class. ... I'm going to finish my salt box this weekend using linseed oil and wax. ... I think the next class I want to take is the candle box class.

I would like to thank you for the excellent instruction you provide at your woodworking school. It is amazing what a beginner can accomplish in a class. Your patience and manner of teaching makes learning woodworking an enjoyable experience. You provide what woodworking books and videos cannot provide, including but not limited to, the evaluation of your use of woodworking tools and corrections on improper use thereof, continuous supervision while work is in progress, explanation of errors made or those that are going to be made and how to adjust or correct such errors, enabling the student to succeed in his project and progress in building his woodworking skills. I highly recommend the Spring Harvest School of Fine Woodworking for anyone who wishes to learn the proper methods of woodworking. I will continue taking classes from George, as each class expands your knowledge of proper woodworking methods and techniques.

Your basic class on joinery was a real eye opener. I learned more in the first 2 hrs than I could reading ten books! The woodworking done was much better and faster than any machine. I have already ordered all hand tools necessary for less than the cost of some router bits. I am now building my workbench. I am Hooked.

I had never built anything from scratch with wood and you made it very easy. Your tools are beautiful and I've always liked being connected with traditions passed down from generation to generation.

I just wanted to say thanks again from Jonathan and I for the intro class the other week. We both had a lot of fun and hope to be able to take another class over the Christmas break -- if we can make it that long!
